Villain of the Month: Guy Kingsford
A popular stage actor, the British born Guy Kingsford appeared in Once is Enough on Broadway before starting his film career, mostly playing small parts, many without any billing. His screen credits include Dracula’s Daughter (1936), The Long Voyage Home (1940), Sahara (1943), Dressed to Kill (1946), The Son of Dr Jekyll (1951) and A Blueprint for Murder (1953).
He appeared in bit parts in several serials; including Universal’s Sea Raiders (1941), Don Winslow of the Navy (1941), Junior G-Men of the Air 91942) and Columbia’s Holt of the Secret Service (1941). His biggest film role was in the Columbia serial adaptation of The Phantom (1943), playing the cowardly fiance of the serial’s heroine, who’s greed tempts him into betraying his friends to the villains for a chance at an ancient treasure.
During the fifties Kingsford continued to garner small parts, this time on TV. He appeared on Highway Patrol, The Millionaire, Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and One Step Beyond.
