Hero of the Month: Clark Williams

Hollywood does not always hold a strong attraction for all actors.  Clark Williams is a case in point.  Starting out on the stage, he was signed by Universal in the early thirties, where he appeared in Secret of the Chateau (1934) and Werewolf of London (1935).  His only serial was Tailspin Tommy in the Great Air Mystery (1935), replacing Maurice Murphy in the title role, trying to protect a friend’s oil rich island with the help of a mysterious pilot called The Eagle.

Williams also appeared in Transient Lady (1935) and Next Time We Love (1936).  After his contract with Universal ended, Williams return to the stage, becoming a director in the late forties.  His last film credit is a small role in Citizen Saint (1947).
