Heroine of the Month: Margaret Quimby

Margaret Quimby was a popular actress in the twenties. She came to prominence starring with serial superstar Joe Bonomo in his serial adaptation of the Swiss Family Robinson, Universal’s Perils of the Wild (1925). She followed this up with Universal’s The Radio Detective (1926).

Moving up to feature film work, Quimby appeared in The Western Whirlwind (1927), Lucky Boy (1928) and Sally of the Scandals (1928). With the coming of sound she made a few films in 1930, The Rampant Age (1930), Trailing Trouble (1930) and Ladies Love Brutes (1930) before it became obvious her voice wasn’t suited for talkies. Quimby married and retired from acting.
