Heroine of the Month: Patricia Farr

Patricia Farr, much like her serial co-star Maurice Murphy, never really moved beyond the role of bit player.  Signed to Paramount in the early thirties she appeared in small roles in films like What Price Hollywood? (1932).  Her only major role was playing Betty Lou Barnes in Universal’s serial adaptation of the popular adventure comic strip Tailspin Tommy (1934), who helps the title character keep a business rival from running the air service company they work for out of business, while they fall in love.  Passed over for the sequel in favor of Jean Rogers, Farr went back to small roles in films like The Lady in Scarlet (1935), Mr. and Mrs. North (1941) and This Gun For Hire (1942).  Farr quit acting in 1946.
