Cliffhanger Productions On YouTube

I finally got my lazy, fat self over to YouTube to check out the previews Cliffhanger Productions put up.  Wow!  My initial reaction was this is laughable, cheap production values, clumsy fist fights, and amateurish acting.  It pales in comparison to the better made three chapter Crimson Avenger serial I highlighted on  Serial Experience’s front page.  And yet I keep going back to watch the cliffhanger excerpts of both King of the Park Rangers and Dangers of Deborah.  I began to look past the faults and see what was underneath.  Everyone participating is obviously committed to the project and are doing the best job they can to the best of their ability, and they all look like they are having a lot of fun doing it.  Who cares if the acting isn’t at the level of Laurence Olivier, or the fighting isn’t at the level of Bruce Lee, they’re still up their doing it, which is more than I can say for myself (I’d also like to see Olivier do as good a job of taking a flyswatter to the face as the thug in Deborah did).  It’s easier to run somebody down than to try and do something yourself, so I whole heartedly give kudos to Todd and the whole gang at Cliffhanger Productions and say keep’em coming.
