Why No Cliffhangers on DVD?

I just got the new Oldies.com catalog in the mail yesterday and it was an all TV on DVD edition.  So I’m perusing it in my study, i.e. the bathroom, and a sudden thought hit me.  Why is Cliffhangers not on DVD.  For those who don’t know what that is, Cliffhangers was a short lived TV show on NBC back in 1979 that featured three continuing stories that would end each week with a cliffhanger.  They were The Curse of Dracula, The Secret Empire (which bore a strong resemblance to Gene Autry’s Phantom Empire), and Stop Susan Williams.  I remember loving this show and being very upset when it ended without finishing the stories.

Anyway, to get back to the catalog I see other shortlived shows are out on DVD; Firefly, The Flash, both Kolchack: The  Night Stalker and the updated Night Stalker, The Dresden Files, and Twin Peaks are all on DVD.  So why isn’t Cliffhangers?  I’m sure there isn’t a serial fan out there who wouldn’t be willing to plunk down cold hard cash to see that show again.  Don’t DVD producers realize there is money to be made here?
